The current Palm version 1.2 contains the following functions:

Transforming mathematical formulas:
- Simplify, multiply, and factorize formulas; building the common denominator
- Normalize and divide polynomials; separate into partial fractions

Discussing mathematical functions:
- Differentiation, integration (even with solution steps).

ABAKUS-DIFF is a free version of ABAKUS with restricted functionality: You can calculate the derivative of mathematical functions.

For example, the input "x*sin(x)" with variable "x" yields the output "sin(x)+x*cos(x)".

Moreover, ABAKUS contains a special editor for mathematical formulas. So you can enter even complex expressions very fast.

At the moment, the following functions are supported:
- sin,cos,tan,cot (trigonometric functions),
- arcsin,arccos,arctan,arccot (inverse trigonometric func.s),
- sinh,cosh,tanh,coth (hyperbolic functions),
- arsinh,arcosh,artanh,arcoth (inverse hyperbolic functions),
- sqrt (square root),
- crt (cubic root),
- exp (exponential function),
- ln (natural logarithm),
- abs (Betrags function),
- sgn (signum function).

Feasible operators are "+" (addition), "-" (subtraction), "*" (multiplication), "/" (division), and "^" or "**" (power).

Finally you can calculate not only single derivatives but even multiple derivatives by entering only one command.
