Once you have the daily paper loaded in automatically before you wake up in the morning you will never again have to fumble with a broadsheet on public transport let alone buy a paper, read the adds and consume trees. TIP: Get plucker, 'syncer' or the like, enable daily wakeup on mobo and channel scheduling in plucker. HOTSYNC DOES NOT FINISH WHILE SPIDERING PROGRESS DIALOGUE LEFT OPEN (default) so you need to turn it off in prefs to get things going auto.

This is one great piece of software!!! I use it for sites like Yahoo and USA Today for news, Movie Habit for reviews and Lots of other great sites All in the palm of my hand without the expensive modem and service. I also like the expandibility of the desktop software. They have it for Linux, Mac and PC. Thanks Guys!!!

The documents look pretty on my hi-res clie, but the desktop software is just annoying. I'd be nice if I could just right click on a file and choose "send to palm", but I guess that's just too user friendly.

When I configure a channel with a list of url's to retrieve data from the program doesn't do anything..... but if I configure a channel to start with only one url then it works fine..... I would like to know how to make this program retrieve pages from several sites in one channel.

This is by far the most worthwhile thing you will ever have to download for your Palm. It can get documents from the web or your computer. The most amazing part of it is the compression, I was able to compress JRR Tolken's Fellowship of the ring (600kb in txt format) down to an amazing 200kb! Keep up the good work!

Very, very good program... very handy. Thank you so much! I find it much easier to read large quantities of text on the palm screen (and take it anywhere!) than on a computer screen. I found this program very easy to use and along with WINHTTRACK it is unbeatable! And even with a greyscale screen the graphics I needed were very viewable. For what the palm is capable of (and you must think about this, not to expect too much) it is terrific.

I found one small bug on my Palm Vx (OS 3.5.3) that causes the scrollbar to malfunction once in a rare while and keep paging up or down without stop (resizing the scroll box wrong?). This can only be stopped by dragging the scroll box to the top. But as this is a work in progress, it only gets better. :) Anyway, great job and thanks again!

Plucker is definitely a winner in converting large files. I have been converting many PDF files of 1000+ pages (via html intermediate output) with only rarely parsing errors. The output produced by Plucker is very readable and the document reader is very nice to use. My core application for managing all documents and images stored on CF memory card.

This is so much better than advantgo. There is no size limit to convert! Installation really was quite easy for Windows. I use this to get weather forcast everyday, movie listings for the local theatre once a week, and daily news. This program couldn't be much better! Thanks for writing this as a freeware with no kb limit!

I'm currently working the NR70 problem now. For some people it works, for others it doesn't. Since I don't have a device it's very difficult to debug since the emulator is crap. Watch hires.plkr.org for more info on when it is fixed.

I am a very pleased Plucker User, but was waiting with great expectation the HiRes port. Alas, it crashes my Clie NR70V as soon as I try to launch it. Hope you'll be able to fix that. Anyway, it's my favorite for all HTML content on the Palm. Thanks for the good job.

Impossible to rate this excellent program any better. The previous reviews were of an earlier version; the current version lets you simply right-click on the file you want, and Plucker will drop the translated and ready to load file in the same directory. The upcoming version includes a very powerful desktop manager, already equal to the one included with AvantGo. As a bonus, Plucker files tend to be smaller than any other document format, including iSilo (and, of course, that means that they're MUCH smaller than the impossibly huge AvantGo files). However, the version number's wrong above -- the actual version is 1.12 beta 13, not 1.13.

Of course, anyone who has only done thousands of click in his life thinks that executing a program on the command line is nothing less than extremely dangerous and difficult.... Great app, great thing that someone also takes into consideration the people who actually run a real OS.

You don't need to be a degree in computer science, you just need to spend about half an hour reading the FAQ that comes with the program. It is a disservice to the average Windows user to suggest that they are incapable of this. Plucker is very powerful, very versatile and far suprerior than AvantGo. This is a very powerful program, capable of producing very readable hypertext documents. Unfortunately it is very difficult to use. It is mainly aimed at Linux users who can't run AvantGo. As a result the document creator uses a command line interface that is useless to anyone who has not got a Computer Science degree. Your average Windows user should steer clear of this, at least until they have built a GUI for the parser.
