Description:
The goal is to destroy the enemy paratroopers and bombs before they destroy you.
Update Description:
v1.1:
- Uploadable high scores. You can now share your hi-score on the Paratrooper site.
- Configurable hardware buttons, for ppl with only four buttons :-)
- Inverted screen and longer bullets for grayscale devices that didn't handle the graphics well enough.
- A difficulty setting, if you think the real war is too hard for you.
- Now prints a few game statistics after the game, like how many small pixeled men you have shot down!
v1.0:
- Made the lower volumes sound even quieter, they sounded too loud.
- Added picture of Sidder, the beaver, to About screen
- Fixed a cosmetic bug that painted on an offscreen window in the foreground color instead of black. The foreground color is not always black when the user uses a costom color scheme.
- Added support for 4-way navigation button. Clicking now fires, left and right now work like the hardware keys.

A game of top quality!!! Nice sound effects, nostalgic graphics, and high replay value! This is one of those games that have earned a permanent place in my Palm game collection!

I am very impressed with this game. My only complaint is SO trivial that it's not worth putting down. Anyway, point is: GREAT GAME!!!

The game is great, but I can't get the 5 way to work with my Treo 650. I can customize the hard buttons, but it'd be easier to play with the 5 way. Anyone?

Some extra stars: ****** Wow! I played the original from a 5 1/4" floppy, and I was skeptical that anyone could make it as good as the original. My skepticism was unneeded, as this is a ABSOLUTELY FAITHFUL, 100% PERFECT remake! Sounds are perfect, gameplay and graphics are the same, even the explosions are intact, scoring, even the title graphic! An absolutely fantastic job. If I had a job I would send you money, but I don't :( Thank you thank you thank you for an AWESOME remake of such a great classic. Definitely worth giving 11 stars. Sidenote: The previous poster complained about the behavior of the cannon continuing to move. This is NORMAL and it would diappoint me if it was not there. The original game had it this way, and this is how it is here. Another example of the great reproduction.

I love the game, but I only have one problem. I have a Zire 71, and when I moving the cannon, it wants to go all the way to one side, unless I hit a button to stop it.

The recent update is much appreciated! I have a Sony CLiE SJ-20 and it just has four buttons like the majority of pre-OS5 devices. The ability to customize the controls helped greatly in the playability of this game.

Excellent game, but as others say, the buttons does not work well... I own a Palm Zire with only four buttons, so please update this terrific game with an option to update the controls by yourself!!

DO NOT download for treo 600.There is no way to return to any other screen or end the game. You have to reset your phone.

Excellent idea. Unfortunately, the hard-buttons don't work on my Tungsten C. The up button will shoot, but nothing else works.

The game is excellent!! But the control is not so good for me (datebook or address for moving left, todo or notepad for moving right and up for fire), because it is really hard to play with only two hands ;-). I think, that better control would be this: datebook or todo for moving left, address or notepad for moving right. In that case, you can use one thumb for moving, and other for fire (up button). (I have palm M505)

Couldn't believe my luck! This was the very first computer game I ever played, spent hours in front of it. Don't think this will be any different :).

I second the request for a greyscale version... :-)

I played the game as a kid and it is great to have it for PalmOS. Do you have plans for a B&W or grayscale versions? I have a Palm m105 so I can´t run the color version.
