Description:
Summing is a mathematical puzzle game.
Your goal is to remove the tiles on the playfield by putting other tiles.

You can do this by only one method: Putting tiles -- If a put tile's number matchs the sum of some neighbor tiles's numbers, the put tile and the neighbor tiles are are removed.

We race the lowest number of putting times.
You can place the top tile from the left column on any empty square.

If the newly placed tiles'8 (or fewer) neightbors sum to the placed tile modulaus 10 (i.e., ignore the 10's dight), then all of them are removed.

Update Description:
(Ver 1.1.0 and 1.1.1):
- Improved English instructions.
- Improved to show NEXT tiles for non-color devices.
- Fixed the version number in the launcher info window.

Awesome game. Very addictive. Definitely worth the install. My explanation: You are given a 6 to play. Find an empty square and look at its neighbor [there are eight of them: sides and corners]. Add up all of the neighbors. If the one's digit of their sum is a 6, then place the 6. It and its neighbors will disappear. If the one's digit is not a 6, then nothing will disappear.

I am so confused, can someone please explain this game to me in terms other than the ones staed above? I tried to follow the instructions, but it's just not working...

Just one super game and we use many for the Palm. After a year at sitting on Top Fives of 17s, I got a 15 yesterday. My lowest so far.

Can anyone give me better instructions on how to get started and play?

"16" is the best we can get (6-7 times), does anyone do better?

I have heard great things about the program, but the link is broken to download it. Could someone fix it?

Still needs an Undo Last Move function for when a tap is misplaced. Remember, the tile you place touches the tiles on the board on it's faces AND its corners. Also, the tile you place needs to match the LAST digit (one's place) of the SUM of the tiles you're placing it next to. The tile you PLACE has NOTHING to do with the sum!

I really love this game. However it doesn't have good directions. How come When there is 2 # 3 blocks with a 4 on top and i place another 4 next to the other 4. It looks like this: 44 33 all four of the blocks the 3s and 4s dissapear. If anyone has better rules email me please.

I LOVE this game. My only regret is introducing it to my wife, who wiped me off the high-score board with no possible way of getting back. :(

Excellent game!! I didn't realize there was a comments section, otherwise I would have used it sooner. I got my family addicted to this game, and my Tungsten|C got passed around more times than I can remember this past holiday. Anyway, I enjoyed this game so much that I've created a version that runs in Perl/Tk. You can download it at [ http://www.quartertone.net/?programming ] free, of course. It runs on Linux and Windows machines if properly set up. Mac OS X is a bit of a hassle at this time, but it's doable, I think. See the website for more info.

This game is excellent. I often bring it to class. The other day I got a score of 17 while sitting in my linear algebra class. GET THIS GAME!!!

Thank you for the much improved "queue"! The arrows instead of numbers is a great idea. Now...if we can have a one-move undo, I'll give it 5 stars! I got my best score so far last night, which I doubt I'll ever best...18. What is the lowest score anyone has had so far?

Hey all you Mac users... did you know there was a version for Mac OS as well?!? I e-mailed the author and he sent it to me with a warning that it was very old, and he wasn't sure if it would work. It works perfect on OS 9.2.2, so if you have OS X you will have to run it in Classic. The play window is small, but heck, it's larger than my Palm screen! **Don't play this game if you are easily addicted!!!** Thank you for the freeware game... please continue to develop it!

I'm another "Summing" addict. I normally steer clear of any games having to do with numbers since I'm so bad at math, but somehow I got hooked on this one. I agree with Greg...a one-move undo option is needed. There are times when a tile is accidentally misplaced and it can spoil what would be a good score. You know the situations...a kid bumping your arm, the dog biting your toe and making you miss your intended block, the car hitting a bump in the road (playing as a passenger, of course!). The updated tile queue is a bit better, I guess. I still think there has to be a better way, but that might just be my own quirk. Oh...and Phillip...I understand your plight. I taught my husband to play and went to the bookstore; he kept the Palm to play while I was gone. I was so lost without my Palm while at the bookstore that I ordered him his own Palm the next day...and Summing was the first game I installed for him. :)

No don't Add an UNDO function. that is just cheating. This game is soo much fun. Unfortunatly though my wife found the game and I havn't seen my Palm since...

After you learned how to play you'll love it!

***** [Jun 19, 2003] by John Newsome
Once you figure out how to play it's a GREAT game! Very addictive!

Good game. Needs better instructions, though. I've sent mine and another person's explanation to the author and hopefully he'll include them. I'd give it an Excellent rating but it needs to be able to undo one move (not more), and the upcoming tiles sidebar can be confusing, especially on non-color devices.
