Description:
TS-Apprentice is an assistant to help speed play in D&D.
It has the following features:
- Follows the Third Edition D&D combat rules.
- Automates combat for the DM. You can enter a monster’s stats, select the monster as an attacker, select who is in range of the monsters, and then automatically roll attacks for each of the monsters. For example, if you have 6 Bug Bears attacking four party members, you can select the Bug Bear’s "weapon", select the four party members, click attack, choose 6 from the pop-up menu, and a screen will be displayed showing which character each bug bear attacked, whether they hit or not and if they hit, how much damage they did.
- Automates combat for players. You can enter up to five weapons for each character (If you have more than five, you can just create more characters.) On the Encounter screen, you select which weapon(s) you want to attack with, select attack and choose how many attacks you want to make from the pop-up menu, and a screen will be displayed showing which weapons hit which AC and how much damage they would do. (Assuming the AC was high enough to hit) In the case of a possible critical hit, it shows which AC was hit the first time, and the AC that was hit the second time, and shows indivdual damage for the 2, 3 or 4 damage rolls, along with a total.
- Tracks hit points for the entire party. (Usually on the Pilot used by the DM.) When the DM uses auto combat, the damage is automatically deducted from each character as they are hit. The encounter screen lets you Heal, Hurt and Heal All individual party members as needed. (Healing and damage spells.)
- Automatically rolls Saving Throws. When you create your character, you can choose the value of the three saving throws from pop-up lists, and then tap the label of the saving throw to roll it.
- Automatically rolls Attribute Tests. Like saving throws, enter your attribute bonus for each of the six attributes, and then tap the attribute label to make the test.
- Rolls up to 30 dice. From the Die Rolling Screen, tap how many sides you want the dice to have, and how many you want to roll. The screen will display each roll, the total of all rolls, half and quarter totals.
- Stores up to 50 characters and/or monsters.
- It’s FREE!
Update Description:
v3.5.1:
- Removed the skill tab.
- Skills are now stored on the Edit screen.
- All skills are now available and only the ones that are available to your character are displayed.
v3.5 (3/6/04):
- Because of all of the database changes, this version uses a new character filename. If you are using an older version, you should make sure you have all your information noted before loading this version.
- Now stores attribute values instead of bonuses.
- Stores Character Class.
- Stores Armor Check Penalty
- Improved handling of skills. Purchased ranks are now tracked separately and attribute modifier and armor check penalty are automatically applied.
- Encounter screen now shows stats about a selected character, allows the AC of a character to be modified, allows saving throws, skill tests and attribute tests to be performed and can roll a single die.
- Encounter screen look has been improved.
v1.9b (11/25/03):
- Tweaks in preparation for the OS 5 version which will be released under a different name.
v1.8 (10/27/02):
- User Interface ChangesAdded the ability to customize the name of the skills.
- Also added the ability to auto-populate the skills with the base modifier associated with the attribute value associated with the skill. That way, you only need to update the ones you have pumped points into.
- You can also blank out the names of skill slots you aren''''t using so the screen is less cluttered.
- On the Skill Screen, there is now a down arrow next to each skill. Tap this and choose the skill you want in that slot from the pop-up menu, or select the blank entry for no skill.
- Then tap the menu button and choose Options -> Populate Skills. This will fill all the skill values with the base for your attribute and then you can go back and manually update the skills you have pumped points into.
When you install this, you will have to delete your characters and re-enter them so you may want to write down any values that you don''''t have anywhere else. (I don''''t recommend using this app as a replacement for a character sheet, it is meant to be a tool to help speed gameplay.)
After you load the new version, run it and then tap the menu button and choose Options -> Delete Characters. This will delete the character database and throw you out to launcher.
When you re-start Apprentice, it will create a default character that you can rename and enter all of your stats into.

Um...that's not score, it's bonus...and I garuntee you that nobody has more than a +20 bonus to any stat. If they do, that's just plain sickening.

This product is not to shabby. It does help DMs keep track of other character stats without going through tons of paperwork. The only problem I had is that the scores for Strength, Wisdom etc, does not go above 20. All in all I give it a good score rating.
