I've spent the last couple months looking into this very issue also. I've made several attempts at contacting the author, Roman Negrey, at both his personal email and the ufo:legacy email. The game's email was sent back as undeliverable... I'm still waiting for a response from the other one. I've been on dozens of messageboards and have been in contact with several people from those boards trying to obtain at least a working keygen. While I've received several responses, nothing has been resolved. A rumored keygen was floating out there for some time but I've learned it doesn't work. I'm hoping to hear from the author but it's probably going to be a dead end. He also developed a palm application for the card game Magic The Gathering around the same time as UFO: Legacy which is also shareware but according to the Russian messageboard, they were both developed some time ago. Perhaps Roman has moved on to bigger and better things as it seems he no longer seems to be developing software. If anyone has any other leads, please let me know. I'm hopelessly addicted to the game. My character is at level 19 and I've long since finished all the quests and now require the code to advance further. Mark lizrdkyng (at) hotmail (dot) com

This game is addictive! It's pretty easy after you learn how to shoot. I mean you can be bad you can be good, you can be straight melee or all guns it's really deep for a palm game. I hope it's the full game =~)

Causes my T|X to reset as well, this happens in the preferences screen as well as in the first dialogue after character creation. Seems to be related to the scroll bar when in the dialogue.

Someone needs to provide instructions! I have been trying to understand how to play the game but still don't seem to really understand how to attack and use different items.

As addictive as all the other from the X-Com / UFO series. Though hard to figure out at first. It'll get turn based when there are units attacking each other (or you), to shoot select weapon, select block and click on weapon again, to pass over turn click on the bottom right. Be careful not to hit (even by bad-chance) another Alien, they don't forgive... so it'll turn into a fight to death... oh yeah, you're not a human but an invading Alien :o)

A good warfare game. It can still use some more work, for instance I was killed three times before I figured out how to fire my gun. Also, it would benefit by having a native English speaker go over the dialogues. I'd be happy to volunteer. :-)
