Description:
MMPlayer is a powerful Mobile Media Player for PalmOS that supports the widest variety of codecs, formats and protocols.
MMPlayer is optimized for the ARM processor and therefore runs very efficiently on Palm Tungsten T handhelds.
Currently the following audio codecs are supported:
- PCM (signed/unsigned, 8/16bits, little/big endian, alaw, mulaw)
- ADPCM (...)
- MPEG audio (layer 1,2,3)
- Windows Media Audio (version 1,2)
Encoded data is often stored in a variety of file formats. MMPlayer supports most formats, including:
- MPEG1 (mpg,mpeg,vcd)
- MPEG2 (vob, transport stream)
- WAV
- AU
- AVI
- ASF
- RM
- SWF
Data stored in a file format can be read from media sources using a range of protocols. On the Palm, MMPlayer now supports the following protocols:
- HH (used to read files stored in the handheld's built-in memory)
- EXT (used to read files stored on expansion cards)
Protocols used to play streaming media from the Internet are not yet implemented. They will be implemented in version 1.0.0 of MMPlayer. The protocols that will be implemented are:
- HTTP
- RTSP
- SDP
Video codecs are not yet implemented, they will be in version 2.0.0 of MMPlayer. The following video codecs will be implemented:
- H263
- MPEG 1,2,4
- DivX
- DV
- MJPEG
