DA Launcher is HACK type program that launches Desk Accesorry which is new type application on PILOT.
On Palm OS (on which Pilot and Palm Pilot runs), only One Application can run at the same time.
Pilot's launch time is very short and well designed application can keep it's status, so It's not so bad for user.
But Haven't you feel bothered when you must quit application to see Graffiti Help and resume it? It's same when you want to see today's date.
As for developer's side, I want to develop some application that handle's other application's data but ordinary application can't do that.
So we must make it as a HACK. But HACK damages speed and stability even when it's not used only installed. Desk accessory is a small applet for such utilities.
Desk Accessory can run overt the Application. You don't have to quit application to run Desk Accesorry.
When Desk Accessory quits, Application continues to run. I'm sorry but We must develop Desk Accessorry as Desk Accessory( not as ordinary Application) .
I'm planning to release rules and samples to develop Desk Accesorry.
This package contains 4 sample Desk Accessories. (Hello World, Free Heap, Date).
DA Launcher which can be used via Command Stroke. have DA management function. Palm OS 5 compatible
- Supports Palm OS 3.5 or later ( includes OS 5)
- Launched via Command Stroke
- Have DA Management feature(delete ,try, beam..)
- Quick launch feature

Also works great on my Tapwave Zodiac. With it I use these DA's: acGraffiti Ref, Ak Utils, AOCtrl DA, CmdDA, CoolDAs, DAice, daTimer, DIA Up, ezconvDA, pTunesDA, SHChanger DA, SoundDA, thumbboardDA and ToUpperDA. I also use McPhling and Hi-Launcher, which can launch DA's as well.

This page states "any OS" as a requirement, but DA Launcher v5 actually says it requires PalmOS v3.5 and recommends DA Launcher v4 for my PalmV (which uses PalmOS v3.3). This version is unusable, but I still give it a 4-star rating on account of the very friendly information.

Works great on my Zire 72. No compatibilty problems with my other nearly 200 apps. I did in the beginning, but then I learned how to use some of the different 5 star file managers out there, and have since had no problems. It's defintely worth the time investment. Thanks!

I read all the other reveiws before downloading, and most of them said that this program was making their palms reset, so I downloaded it anyway and it did the same thing. Don't download it!

It didnt work for me. My visor deluxe was dead, just like the other guy with the palm V... soft reset , hard reset.. nothing.... the only thing that gave it life again was taking away the batteries for some time (about 30 mins) then put them back so it erased all the crap "da launcher" put in there (even hard reset didnt work).. well... didnt work for me .. maybe for others its great...

It's a very good concept for a palm to work without restarting apps.. I like it a lot, if there were not this bug (for wich I have to switch everytime I want to sync). This app made my poor and little m105 crash... I used the app, but there seems to be some bugs with other hacks, so DA launcher (if in the hacks menu activated) crashes my m105 if I try to make a sync. But I give it 4 stars, cause others seem to have no problems (I forgot to say, that the mentioned link does not work, or, not any more...) and also I would have no problems, if there were not this annoying bug.

My palm is not responding to anything after i installed the "da launcher". It just shows the "Palm Computing Platform", neither a soft reset nor a hard reset can make it alive. Seems like the "da launcher" has killed my palm V.

It's great having the DA Launcher in the Preferences app... I can now view the time (using the included Clock DA) even when I lock my Palm!
