MessagEaseKB is the keyboard extension version of MessagEase application. It optionally replaces your Palm keyboard, so that you can enter text much faster than with Palm's QWERTY keyboard or Palm's Graffiti.It'll take you a few minutes to become familiar with it. spend about 15 minutes and you'll enter text faster than you do with Graffiti. If you use it for about 30-45 minutes, you'll enter text 2-3 times faster than Graffiti, much more accurately too.
Based on MessagEase's Patent protected technology, MessagEaseKB empowers you to enter all letters, numbers and special characters with a single tap or drag of a stylus. You can also reprogram your keyboard to enter other accented special characters with a single drag. At any rate, you'll have access to the full ASCII character set. Additionally, you can save and recall 80 pieces of text of any length; its like having 80 large clipboards at your disposals!
MessagEases keyboard only has 12 keys, making each key much larger than the keys on a QWERTY keyboard. As a result, tapping on these keys is fast and accurate. In addition, MessagEases keyboard is designed based on letter frequency information so most of the time (71%) youll be only tapping.

Wow. I don't know how long I've been using this program, but it rocks. For me, it's faster than graffiti. I have no problems on my CLIE SJ-22. One request: maybe add a little color?

Cool idea. But, it is hard for me to grasp the logic in selecting the alphabets using a variety of different directional strokes.

MEKB is pretty impressive so far. One note about switching versions: if you're punctuation starts acting weird (i.e. you input a period, but get some other character), make sure you go in using FileZ or some other file manager and delete your MeData-DBME file. According to the newsgroup, all the versions use the same database file and sometimes they can get out of sync. I really like this so far and the MessagEase training game is pretty helpful (a-la-fitaly-letris). Great app.

I must-have keyboard hack for any Palm OS. Genius! Quite usable, and functional - even beginners will notice a difference in speed and functionality.

Love it! version 1.8 works great on an m515, Palm OS v4.1. I have weird returns on wordsmith but that's a messageaseKB problem I guess? Messagease is worth learning (not *too* steep of a learning curve) and you can enter long words much faster when you have a rhythm going.

This is an amazing application. The learning curve is steep -- it took me about several weeks to reach my previous top Graffiti speed -- but the novel design of MessagEaseKB now allows me to enter text nearly twice as fast with significantly less errors. I think this app would be especially handy if you do a lot of writing on your Palm. Furthermore, the software developers are very responsive to user feedback and seem genuinely committed to providing a quality and useful product.
