v0.8.1 (3/31/02):
- This release includes a LIKE operator (regexp), and other new commands
- DIRWALK, CHOP(), and EXEC (like RUN but never returns).
- There are now command-line help-pages (with search)
- And numerous fixes
- Including ones for CAT(), ENV(), and ENVIRON, the MEMO driver (which crashed on PalmOS)
- The PDOC driver, and a memory leak.

Awesome programming language! Great for beginners, "mediums" like me, or even advanced programmers! goto palmgear.com and search for smallbasic... I'll have stuff up there soon! It's kinda funny... I noticed alot of you are/were 13 like me! :D

SilverY2K, I had the same problem as you on my zire71. Go to the sorceforge site in the above link as there's a later version, including one for OS5. There's also stuff to convert bas to pdb and other useful software/documents.

Back when I had a palm os handheald (a nice clie) But a freand broke it. I now use a pocet pc. This program is preaty good espeshaly to the newbie. I used it to make a quis game and started my own sub basic lanwage interperter. This is alo good becouse of how esy the editor is to use but to paist you need to Bring up thekey bouard. I just wish that there was a pocet pc version

When I used this on my Zire 71 it absouletly did not work. I tried it on my friend's and same result. Well it worked but telling it to print "Hello World!" would crash it 19/20 times. I got a Loop working once but then the next time I tried it crashed. I don't know why, am I doing something wrong?

I Love Smallbasic! It helped me learn the concepts of computer programming, and it is simple and easy for a 12 year old like me.I made lots of games, and now I'm on to programming in C.

WOW!!!!! I have been looking for a QBasic type programmer for the Palm for a very long time. And this one is great. Best part is that when im bored I can make a new game! Pretty good for a 13 year old I say.
