Description:
Speak is a very small program which allows a Palm OS5 device to speak-out the contents of the clipboard using PSpeak, the text-to-speech engine developed by pSpeak Inc. ( http://www.pspeak.com ).

Now my iQue 3600 can do more than tell me where to go. What a neat, fun program. It doesn't seem to buffer the full 4k of the clipboard, but it works and is amusing. It sounds like Stephen Hawking is talking to you. A bit mechanical, but understandable and slightly configurable. It lacks a star because I can't really think of too many (any) practical uses.

It works great with my Treo Navigation Software and Mapopolis, but like the other reviewer mentioned, it does not work properly with any other files on the Treo. The most I can get out of it is one or two of the first words in a memo. I cannot get it to read any text from the sample text provided with it.

This is really impressive. It just shows that palm is more than an orgaizer. Its good for reading large documents without reading them and for impressing friends. (:-)

Doesn't work properly on the Treo 600 - The 'test' button in Speak produces just a jumble of sounds that sounds a bit like "P Spee Th S" - adjusting the controls doesn't make any difference. If I Launch the PSpeak icon, it just says 'Hullo Th S". If I launch it from the command bar, it says "P Spee Th S" and superimposes the text 'Below Threshold' on top of whatever screen is showing. The checkbox labels overlap in the configuration screen. Maybe this is all to do with the unconventional display and hardware of the Treo?

It is nice to hear the voice on T/T, if the pdb file can store and using in SD card is much better.
