v3bHack enables old SONY Clies (it means that its OS version is less than 4.1.) to show version 3 Hi density bitmaps on its HiRes LCDs.

I thought this was just for icons and given that ZLauncher gives me that ability anyway, I put off trying it... But now I have tried it, I'm gob-smacked - Many apps use hi-density bitmaps all over the place and installing this Hack has given some of my palm applications quite the make-over! (Plucker and Mobile Paint, for example) - I give it 4 starts because it crashes when you try to exclude an application, however I've had no other problems with it yet.

The Previous version (0.3) worked great but crashed when trying to view any icon, or images that are 16bit Low Resolution, combined with transparency, or combined with compression. This is due to a hardware bug in Sony 4.1 SonyHiRes Clies. 16bit Low Res Icons are fine, so long as they don't contain Transparency, or Compression. It is not possible to view such images/Icons on these Clie PDA's. It also crashed when in "SplashID"'s "About" page. Maybe that has 16bit Low Res imaging with transparency, or compression, in it.
Some other programs appear to also crash using the earlier version of v3bhack, as well. So, to see a newer version of the hack, with the option to exclude any RAM resident programs, I was pleased. However, It crashes when I try to select a program for exclusion. And also crashes when I hit applications/home after turning the hack on. Unforunately, the damage is severe, as I have lost everything, and have to reload. When it crashes, as with all crashes where the Palm Logo flashes on and off, if you have LauncherX, you must delete the LauncherX Database, otherwise your Sony will keep crashing everytime you hit home. Because of this, I try not to let it crash too often. I will load the older version until this is fixed. However, this is a great program, and although it is no longer needed for programs like Datebk5, it works with Agendus, allowing you to see High Res and 16bit images, and icons from within Agendus. Other Programs are advanced, and include a program like vb3hack in it, but Agendus doesn't, and this hack is the only available option for Agendus users, who don't have a Palm/Sony OS5 PDA.
The Hack also allows you to see the High Density (16bit) application icons, that you can normally only see in OS5 machines. Unfortunately, LauncherX doesn't support seeing the results from within LauncherX yet. I give it a fair for the quality of the previous version, and knowing this version is a breakthrough when fixed.
